Olsen Scores Three as Aces Down the Sharks 9-3

May 22nd, 2021

The year cannot end quick enough for the Scotiabank South China Sharks as they lost their eighth straight game and eleventh of the season to the first place Manulife Macau Aces by the count of 9-3.

Playing with a 'Youth Squad', the Sharks had seven U16 players in the line-up. Alyssa Ho playing in first ever CIHL game scored her first goal late in the third. U18 star Michael Shum had the other two goals for the Sharks.

The Aces inched closer to grabbing first place in the CIHL standings and an automatic birth to the finals - their magic number in down to one. Team GM Whitney Olsen had a hat trick in the second period - his third goal was the eventual GWG. Whitney now has 25 goals on the season - 6 more than Tycoons Nicholas Weberg and Lucas Eshleman. Aces U18s Elvis Hsu and Ryan Chu both had strong nights, Elvis had 4 assists while Chu had two goals.

The Aces next game is June 3rd against the Sharks - the Sharks however have no break as they play the surging Tycoons on May 27th, 9:45pm @ Mega Ice.
